The Georgia Alliance of Black School Educators (GA-ABSE) is a non-partisan organization comprised of educators in the state of Georgia. We are a state affiliate of The National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) and are dedicated to increasing wellness, engagement, and overall achievement for Black youth.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Georgia Alliance of Black School Educators is to foster community, strengthen instructional and leadership practices, and advocate for policies that improve the educational system for Black educators and students.

Building Bridges of Equity: Honoring Dr. King’s Legacy in Georgia’s Schools

As we embark on a new year, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy challenges every member of Georgia's educational community—not only teachers but also principals, assistant principals, district leaders, bus drivers, nutrition staff, counselors, and administrative support—to strive for equity, inclusion, and a shared sense of purpose when supporting scholars. Dr. King shared that "Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education" (from his essay, "The Purpose of Education," published in The Maroon Tiger, 1947).
